Publisher Behaving Badly: Jones Harvest Publishing

*I am not involved in the issues surrounding this company. This post is my way of spreading the information further an improving the changes that new, hopeful and defrauded authors find the right sites instead of the wrong ones.

Jones Harvest Publishing (MySpace page here) is a “co-op” publisher (this means the author is expected to pay, in some way, most likely upfront, for publication) started by Brien Jones, who also had a hand in starting Airleaf which was taken down this year by the state of Indiana (thanks to some hard work by people who had been defrauded by the company).

Well, apparently Mr. Jones is rather irate with Bonnie Kaye, who organized the Airleaf victims. He’s rather mad at Victoria Strauss and Lee Goldberg as well (he went so far as to remove Mr. Goldberg’s very manhood). He’s not only pulled the “they’re meanies” card, and the (possibly fake) Cease & Desist letter (which displays a lack of understanding of the concepts of “libel” and “slander” as per usual) but he’s also started a webpage at BonnieKayeLies.com to spread his rants further. (Thus this attempt at spreading the great things Victoria and Bonnie have been doing.)

If you’d been defrauded by Jones Harvest here’s a place that can offer support. If you’ve not yet done business with them but get this blog entry when considering it, read this, as well as the two links in the above paragraph before making your choice.

For everyone else, whose turn is it to make the popcorn?

One Response to Publisher Behaving Badly: Jones Harvest Publishing

  1. Bonnie Kaye says:

    Dear Michele,
Thanks so much for the support. As the founder of the Airleaf Victims, and now the Jones Harvest Fraud victims, it is unacceptable to me that any so-called publisher can take advantage of the most vulnerable of people including senior citizens, people with limited English understanding, and disabled people According to one ex-employee, Jones had sales people calling nursing homes for sales. As a victim of Airleaf who has lost over $5,000, I am making it my mission to stop the insanity of this continuation of fraudulence. Please feel free to keep up with my blog at http://jonesharvestfraudvictims.blogspot.com/
Thanks so much for your support.
