I’ve never been. Really, the only reason I’d want to go is for some awesome fireworks pictures. I hate crowds (this year they estimated that 700,000 people were there) and my chances of getting a good place for photos without having to show up at like 4 am are dismal. Maybe some year, if I can get on a boat and get a babysitter. There’s no way in hell I’d make my kids go through that kind of a day and crowd.
(For those who are confused: Thunder Over Louisville is an air and firework show that kicks off the Kentucky Derby Festival. The fireworks are a music and booms choreographed event that last about half an hour solid. Yes. Half an hour of solid fireworks. Every year. The day before Earth day. Go Ky Derby! You can watch the whole thing c/o the local news here.))
But see, I don’t have to go down and suffer the crowd. I live about three miles away and can see much of it anyway. Here’s some pictures from people there and here are some from my house:

The show was absolutely amazing…. couldnt have asked for better weather. If you would like pictures follow the link and contact me for pricing.
