I’ve been spending the last few days in a mix of gardening, writing, dealing with a variety of obstacles that have been plaguing me and amazingly enough, doing housework.
The garden is looking…well the broccoli has over doubled in size, the tomatoes have done nothing, save for recover from their transplant shock. Tomorrow, weather depending, I plant to use a spray on fertilizer to help them.
The second plot has been irritating the heck out of me. First the corn didn’t sprout, then when I replanted I only got a few more plants out of it. I don’t know if the birds are getting the seeds, or what. The area is gorwing everything but what I planted there. So I covered it with some old carpet that I use as a mud mat and am just going to scrap what plans I had for that area. It’s about 1/3rd of that plot. I went ahead and planted the beans and squash because most of the corn is four inches or more. I guess I’ll figure out something for that area that didn’t sproud anything useful.
As far as writing goes, I’ve been getting some really good word counts in. Over 3k yesterday and almost 3k Monday. Today, not as well, but I like writing after everyone is gone while listening to Loveline. I don’t know why crime shows and Loveline make for such great writing atmosphere for me, but whatever works.
See, Jason bought me a new laptop, and since I’m already more than 8k into the last section of Plague Lives, which should be between 20 & 25k I think I can finish it (or get real close) by the time the next computer gets here. If so, this will be the last project I write on this, my first laptop.
Who am I kidding, I’m more excited than sad.
I’ve even been taking yoga classes at the local health clinic (those interested should check their local clinics out because I only pay $1 for an hour long class.) For the first two classes I was frustrated more than anything because it felt like class was just pointing out how not-flexible and completely graceless I am. But today was good, and for the first time I felt better after. Ironically, it was also the first time that I almost didn’t make it and rushed out at the last minute, unprepared.
I’m working on Rot promotion as well, and am looking for reviewers, bloggers willing to host guest posts and give away ideas.
And one more thing, I’m resigning from my work with Dark Recesses. There are a variety of reasons, most of which are just different forms of I don’t have enough time to work on my own projects. Coupled with DR being months past it’s relaunch date at this point I have to move on to other things.
To those I’ve promised reviews/interviews: they will still appear over on BookLove. Considering that I was using material given to me for BL on DR I hope this is still fair.
That’s about it, unless you want to see the site I got that sexist ad from, which is here. It’s a reminder of why we should be better than our stereotypes.

Has a format even been decided in regards to DR? Fiction, non-fiction, mix?
I’m glad you’ll be posting the reviews on Book Love. Selfish reasons – I was more likely to read them there.
It has, but there were some strange stalls, and I just can’t keep sitting around waiting for reviews I wrote in January to be posted. I can’t keep producing content that’s not being used.
